As you probably already know, I’m a Brand and Web designer. What you probably don’t know is that I’m an organisation geek and I love having processes put in place.
When you’re running a business, putting processes in place is essential. Especially a design business, where you’re always juggling at least a few jobs at once. I believe in having processes for everything, but today I’m sharing with you my brand design process, step by step. This will be helpful to you if you’re working on client work, or even if you’re DIYing your own brand.
These steps will take you all the way from brain to brand! Side note: I use Asana to keep track of all my projects, and all steps indicated are listed in Asana as tasks. If there’s a strict time frame, I will assign my clients to specific tasks and set a due date. This really helps get the project moving. Asana is an awesome, free project management tool.
1 | TARGET AUDIENCE
Firstly, we need to figure out the target audience. Defining the target audience is so important because we need to design & build strategically to attract them.
2 | DESIGN
What are you envisioning, what are you attracted to, what do you want from your new website. I find it useful for you to send me some example websites you like the look of.
3 | CONTENT
I work with you to create your content, if you have content available I will begin with that and if required I will re-write to align with you websites SEO. At this stage you send over all photo’s and I will edit them to make sure they best suit your website design.
4 | BUILD
I go away and design & build your new website.
5 | REVIEW
This is the fun part for you! You get to see your new website and we go through it and I will make any necessary changes for you.
6 | SEO
The important part – all my websites are optimised to be found on Search Engines and I also recommend any other marketing options that would best suit your business.
7 | GO LIVE
The big day has arrived your website goes and you can show your target audience your new website.
